Great post, Craig. I've always felt that"genre" was a term invented by gatekeepers (book publishers, movie studios, record labels, etc.) in order to market things to consumers. Art is art, with many different flavors to choose from, I say. My shelfie:

Yeah. As a person who writes a lot of different things - I hate the concept of genre.
