Okay, not complete, but some thoughts anyhow...
My husband says that giving books for free is a losing proposition, because, I quote: things you get for free are not valued. After reading this post, I suspect he's right.
He's not wrong - but it also can get eyes on books, producing needed ratings and reviews.
I don't do it that often, but it can work.
